Lighthouse at Kamuzu Central Hospital

The Lighthouse is an HIV/AIDS clinic based in Lilongwe, Malawi at Kamuzu Central Hospital. The Lighthouse offers a Continum of Care to its clients, caring for them from initial testing, through periods of illness, through to palliative care at the end of life. Lighthouse approaches the challenge of dealing with HIV/AIDS by offering Integrated Services. These services are Home Based Care (HBC), HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) and Clinical Services. Integrated services will ensure referrals are straightforward, and clients move easily from Lighthouse HIV Testing and Counseling to Clinic to Hospital to Home Based Care. Lighthouse staff work together to share skills, building clinical skills in HBC, or counseling skills in the clinic.
