NARI logo National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), Pune, India is a leading AIDS research organisation in India, with a wide portfolio of research in the epidemiology, virology, immunology, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. NARI is a partner in several internationally-funded networks. It is involved in an evaluation of the AVAHAN programme. NARI has been extensively involved in the development of national policies and programmes, including the prevention of mother-to-child transmission and ART programmes. NARI, LSHTM and UCL have formed links with the Goa State AIDS Control Society and local NGOs in Goa, including Sangath and Positive People, and a programme of research on HIV treatment and care services has been outlined.
