ZAMBART events

ZAMBART is commemorating World AIDS Day both in Lusaka and the 16 sites where ZAMBART is currently implementing TB research projects.

Activities will include:

1. A ’march past’ to raise awareness of HIV and its convergence with TB

2. In the Kabwe district of Zambia where an EfA study is being undertaken on home-based care, ZAMBART has partnered with a local community-based organisation called DACKANA to:

•    Conduct awareness-raising activities on HIV and AIDS

•    Lead activities to convey the benefits of voluntary counselling and testing

•    Give public drama performances to demonstrate the role of home-based caregivers in providing support to people living with HIV and AIDS.

ZAMBART and DACKANA will participate in the march past in Kabwe district, using publicity materials such as t-shirts and a banner printed with the ZAMBART, DACKANA and EfA logos.
